Footy = Footage

Early this morning, it was reported that torrents of little-known upcoming title Grand Theft Auto IV began surfacing on websites that host such files. Soon after, in-game footage began appearing online. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have been acting quickly to suppress videos appearing on Youtube, and had this to say: "We’re aware of this video, who posted it, and are taking care of it. It’s sad to see things like this happening so close to launch, especially when people deserve a better first look."

Regardless of their fast action, video still has been popping up on other sites like DailyMotion and Gametrailers. I was unable to resist taking a peek myself, and I gotta say it feels kinda dirty. All of the footage released so far has been very grainy and taken right off the players' screens, and definitely NOT what Rockstar wanted the fans first-impressions to be based on. All of that aside though, even the low-res footage looks great.

With 6 days left until launch, I think we can expect a lot more footage and information leaking about the game; those who want to go unspoiled will need to watch their step when surfing the internet for the next week or so. Official game play footage should also be leaking soon from Gametrailers and Xplay in their online and television reviews of the game. So players can wait until then, if they can't hold off until Christmas before opening their gifts.

Torture, Motherfucker

This is the second installment of the Wu-Tang office series that I only just now learned of. Anyone who knows 36 Chambers inside and out like I do can see why this is funny. Check out the inferior part one here.

O RLY?

This is just one of those videos that you find on YouTube that is so strange and random that it really is just a work of art in itself. Somehow, somebody somewhere in the Philippines got 1500+ inmates from Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center preform the entirety of Micheal Jackson's Thriller song, zombie theatrics and all. This is a video I stumbled on via Byron Crawford of their rehearsal.

Hey Hey Hey

So according to Nah Right and the AP, Bill Cosby and guest rappers are dropping a new album next month, might be interesting. Not as interesting as if Cosby himself, Jay and Three Six were all on that, but I'll probably try to check at least part of it out.

I'm not sure what Bill's role will be, if he's not rapping. I hope if he's planning on any long spoken-word parts that he'd at least get some rhythm and bounce in there, but we'll have to see. If it's nothing more than his name on the label and some consulting, maybe SupaNova Slom, Jace the Great and Brother Hahz can carry the load, I'm not familiar. Otherwise he'll have to stick to jazz next time around, like his man Cliff Huxtable.

Somebodies want GTA IV more than dronkmunk??

In fairness not everyone can rearrange almost three weeks of their life to wait outside, but these Swedes want it bad. Have fun out there guys!

This link is stolen from a popular video game site where the vast majority of staff and readers ripped on these fans as though they don't all spend an inordinate amount of time on video games and video game news. I understand camping has some bad connotations but come on.
